Summer Wedding Ideas
When people think about celebrating love, outdoor summer weddings definitely come to mind! Here in Minnesota, we love summer weather and look for any excuse to spend time outside. Summer is the most popular season for weddings here at the Outpost and it’s no surprise to us why!
Our venue is most often used for outdoor ceremonies and indoor receptions. The grounds really allow our couples to enjoy the best of both worlds. It’s common for our couples to get married outside, host their cocktail hour on the lawn + patio and then head instead for the party!

Although this is a great spring or fall idea as well, there is just something about summertime that screams outdoor fun.

Food Stations
From Raw Bars to Low-Country Boils to Clam bakes, summers equal seafood! If you want to enjoy the summer sun just a little longer, having a variety of seafood stations set-up around the perimeter of the patio is perfection!
We also love the idea of passed appetizers in a variety of refreshing options- skewers of fruit or Caprese salad, cold soups, dippable veggies.
Lastly, an ice cream cart is a sweet ending to your summertime soiree!
Signature Drinks
Be it mock-tails or some kind of frozen libation, having a signature refreshing beverage is a fun way to celebrate summer. A wine spritzer is the perfect cool-down! Or how about a popsicle in champagne? Yum!
Don’t forget the drink station either. Flavored and sparkling waters will ensure guests are hydrated and happy!
Funky Favors
Sunglasses, flip flops, beach towels, parasols. We don’t need a beach to enjoy the sunshine and we don’t have to be waterfront to love a summertime staple. Carry the carefree feeling that summer brings into your wedding favors!
Playful Decor
Hosting a wedding may be the biggest, most romantic gesture you’ll ever do. But you can still have fun with playful decor ideas! We’re thinking easy breezy balloons and streamers. Perfect for defining entranceways or signifying special tables (cake, place card, gift, etc).

Spring and Summer scream for colorful weddings! If you have color visions of the wedding day dancing in your head, summertime is a fantastic season for hot pink, peach, orange, yellow and green. Poppy and punchy combinations are ideal for the summer season!

Can’t get enough of the idea of being beneath the summer stary night? Set-up lounge furniture on the lawn. The night may have to end, but you can soak up every last second while cozy on a couch!
